Frequently asked questions
The questions we get before anyone says yes.
In the order they tend to arrive. If yours isn't here, write to us: we would rather take a hard question now than a misunderstanding in three months.
The product
- What is AllyWise?
- AllyWise prepares every first B2B sales meeting: it reads your profile and your buyer's, then tells you how to open, what to say and what to avoid — calibrated on the seller–buyer pair, not on one side of it.
- Is AllyWise a CRM?
- No. A CRM keeps the record of your deals; AllyWise prepares the conversation. They are two different jobs and they live in two different tools: AllyWise works alongside the CRM you already have — HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce — and asks you to migrate nothing.
- What is a Diad Brief?
- It is the document AllyWise produces before a meeting. It holds the reading of the seller–buyer pair, three possible openings, the kind of proof that particular buyer weighs most, the words to use and the ones to avoid, the topics to bring, the timing and the signals to watch for in the room. Every element carries its source and a confidence level.
- How is this different from just using ChatGPT?
- A general-purpose model writes an email if you tell it what to write: the method stays in your head. AllyWise starts from two profiles — yours and your buyer's — and tells you what to say to that specific person and why; the text is the consequence, not the product. It also declares its sources, its confidence and a compliance perimeter that a generic chat does not have.
- Does it replace sales training?
- No, and it isn't the same thing. A course transfers a method once, in a room. AllyWise makes that method available in the thirty minutes before every meeting, for everyone on the team.
- Does AllyWise record or listen to my calls?
- No. There is no bot joining your meetings. If you choose to hand us a transcript we can read it, with the consent of the people who were there. By default we listen to nothing.
Privacy, GDPR and the AI Act
- Does AllyWise psychologically profile people?
- No. It forms a hypothesis about how best to communicate with someone, stated as a hypothesis and accompanied by an explicit confidence level. It is not a judgement of the person, it is not a test — your buyer fills in nothing — and it is not a diagnosis.
- Where does the data about my buyer come from?
- Public sources only, mediated by you. AllyWise servers do not access LinkedIn: the content comes from the page you are already looking at. And we do not rebuild an archive of profiles, because that would be a different kind of processing with a legal basis we do not have and are not seeking.
- Is AllyWise compliant with the GDPR and the AI Act?
- The product was designed from those constraints rather than adapted to them afterwards. Your buyer's profile is ephemeral; the special categories under Art. 9 GDPR are not processed, across four layers of control; there is no emotion recognition, which Art. 5 of the AI Act prohibits in the workplace; and no automated decision is taken about the person described. Our Privacy and AI Act page also states what we are still completing before commercial launch, including the DPO appointment and the DPIA.
- What is the legal basis for processing my buyer's data?
- Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f), with a written and documented balancing test: the processing is ephemeral and serves one imminent meeting. Your own seller profile rests on your explicit consent instead, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- Can my buyer ask to be deleted?
- Yes. Access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection — Arts. 15-22 GDPR — are exercised by writing to privacy@allywise.io, an address that answers. Inside the product, deletion is one click: not a form, not a ticket.
- Will I see personality scores?
- No, by design. Raw scores never appear in the interface: a number next to someone's name invites you to trust it more than it deserves and to treat the label as the person. What you see is an archetype, guidance on how to communicate, and a stated confidence level.
The method
- What is the TANDEM method?
- It is the framework from Alessandro Ponte's forthcoming book, and also the acronym of the cycle it describes: Traits, Archetypes, Navigation, Dyad, Execution, Measurement. AllyWise is not the book: it deliberately takes one small slice and brings it to where it is needed, the thirty minutes before a first meeting.
- Which psychometric model is it built on?
- The Big Five (OCEAN), and nothing else: it is the model with the most solid empirical base in personality psychology. We ruled out DISC, common in sales training but without a comparable scientific basis, and values-based segmentations in the VALS tradition, built for the consumer rather than for a buying committee.
- Why the pair, and not just the buyer?
- Because the same buyer is an easy meeting for one salesperson and an uphill climb for another. Tools that promise to help you understand your customer work on one person; the right move depends on the pair. It is also why your own profile is a required step: without it, there is no pair to read.
- Do I have to fill in a questionnaire?
- You do, once, in five minutes: your profile is half of the pair. Your buyer never does.
Price, beta and who we are
- What does AllyWise cost?
- It is a per-seat subscription, with a full 15-day trial and no perpetual free tier. The price is set in a discovery call because it depends on the size of the team and the length of the sales cycle: during the private beta we do not publish a price list. Beta participants have full access, free, for the duration of the beta.
- Who is AllyWise for?
- For people selling complex B2B deals: the decision is risky for the customer, several people decide, the cycle is long, the relationship is built across many human interactions, and you win on trust more than on price. It is not for transactional or self-service B2B, industrial e-commerce and catalogue reorders, rigid tenders, or low-value one-shot sales.
- Do I need to migrate my CRM or get IT to integrate anything?
- No. AllyWise does not replace the CRM you have, and it does not require a data migration to start using it.
- How do I get into the private beta?
- Through a discovery call. The beta is capped — we are looking for five sales directors — and in exchange for full access we ask for a half-hour check-in each week and the discipline of telling us, after each meeting, whether the brief anticipated what you found.
- Who is behind AllyWise?
- Ally S.r.l., an innovative startup based in Turin, Italy, founded by Alessandro Ponte and Leandro Frola. During the beta there is no first-line support: if you write, one of the two of us answers.
Your question isn't on this page?
Write to us, or book half an hour. The two of us answer, not a form.
